C.A.R.E. Ministry

(Christians Aiming to Respond to Each Other)

The C.A.R.E. Ministry was formed to serve the spiritual and physical needs of the elderly and shut-ins in nursing homes and hospitals. Parishioners who volunteer in this ministry reach out to bring Christ to those who can no longer participate actively in the spiritual activities of the parish.

The distribution of Eucharist to residents of Harbor Court, LifeCare, Welsh Home and Pinzone Towers is only one way the C.A.R.E. Ministry volunteers bring compassion and caring to those who need spiritual interaction. Weekly prayer services and Mass once a month for nursing home residents, including a special Anointing of the Sick Mass, is a viable part of the C.A.R.E. Ministry. Time is also spent visiting hospital patients, when the parish is notified by a family member. Eucharistic Minister training is available for those who wish to be part of this particular effort.

The C.A.R.E. program is a ministry of sharing in God’s mission of service to the elderly community. For those seeking a way of helping others, but with limited volunteer time, this may be what you are looking for.  If you have as little as one-half hour per month to give, please call Denise Feyes, Coordinator at 440-734-1300.
