Planning the Mass of Christian Burial

The guide linked below has been prepared by St. Bernadette Parish to assist you and your family in planning the Mass of Christian Burial for your loved one. We hope that using this guide will provide you with some comfort and guidance as you make decisions regarding the funeral liturgy.

The guide explains the progression of the liturgy as well as offering suggestions on how family members and friends can be involved. All plans for the funeral liturgy will be discussed with a member of the parish staff.  Therefore, we ask that you contact the office as soon as possible to set up a time to make the appropriate arrangements.

In order to cultivate the best experience of the funeral liturgy, we ask that only baptized, confirmed, and practicing Catholics fulfill the various special roles during the Mass. 

You will find a funeral planning sheet at the end of the guide which should be used to record the readings, hymns, as well as the names of those people chosen to fulfill certain roles.
